WE LEFT THE TENT POLES IN MY ATTIC

Friday, 4 January 2019

Yep. You read that title correctly.

My parents gave me our camping tent without the poles to go on holiday with. As you can see in the photo above, we were absolutely stoked about it too.

Thankfully we brought along our gazebo which attaches to the tent along WITH it's correct poles, pegs and whatever else we needed. So my friends and I spent our new years at Cooks Beach sleeping in a gazebo.

The very last day of 2018 we spent at Hahei Beach. The weather was pretty average but we managed to take a walk to a lookout where we could see the entirety of the beach and all of it's glory. It was stunning.

Zac and Emily even managed to get in a little snorkeling session where they found someones credit card floating among the fish.

Where was I, you ask? I was lying in the sand snacking on a container of pringles. I have no regrets.

After a day of exploring, our final hours of 2018 were spent lying on a picnic blanket in the sand on Cooks Beach. We watched the stars and listened the crashing of the waves while Good Grace by Hillsong United played in the background.

Having timed it just perfectly Joel Houston yelled out from my phone "I have a feeling it's about to get rowdy!" and fireworks crashed as they flashed through the sky indicating the start of a new year - a great year to be.

Our year started off with a whole lot of adventure and I am so excited to see what greatness God has planned for this one. If it is anything like last year we are in for a real treat.

XO, Danielle
