THE ANNUAL TRIP TO THE STRAWBERRY FARMS

Wednesday, 10 January 2018

Once my friends and I arrived home after our trip to Taupo that we took over New Years, you'd think we would have been sick of each other. I mean we did live together for five days. But in actual fact it seemed to be the opposite. We've seen each other pretty much everyday since.

If you've been watching the New Zealand weather reports at all you would know that we were hit with a big old storm and we were lucky enough to miss majority of the bad weather on our trip home. By Monday morning the rain, the flooding and the clouded skies were gone. Jesus pulled through and gave us back the well loved summer sun once again. To celebrate, we decided that a trip to the strawberry farm my family and I visited last year was the best option.

We picked 2.5kg of strawberries, stained our shoes as we walked through the patches, ate more strawberries in the process of picking than we ended up paying for and I managed to stain my white shirt in amongst all of the fun. I had to spend the rest of the day with a stained t-shirt. It was 100% worth it though. Getting to spend another day with these friends of mine will always outweigh ruining one of my favourite tops.

Moral of the story: NEVER wear white when your day consists of strawberry picking. That includes shoes - we may have ruined a couple of pairs of those too.

XO, Danielle
